Palari Films is an Indonesian, Jakarta-based film production company that strives to produce unique and quality films that will appeal to both the Indonesian and international markets.
Producers Muhammad Zaidy – Athirah (Riri Riza, 2016); Meiske Taurisia – Postcards from the Zoo (Edwin, 2012), Rocket Rain (Anggun Priambodo, 2013) and The Fox Exploits the Tiger’s Might (Lucky Kuswandi, 2015); and Lorna Tee, – Rain Dogs (Ho Yuhang, 2006), Crazy Stone (Ning Hao, 2006), Lover’s Discourse (Derek Tsang/Jimmy Wan, 2010), Postcards from the Zoo (Edwin, 2012) and Mrs. K(Ho Yuhang, 2016), are currently overseeing three films in development and pre-production. These films aim to bring together successful box-office screenwriters, acclaimed authors and respected, award-winning directors.
At the helm of these films are Teddy Soeriaatmadja – Asian Film Awards Best Director Nominee, 2012; Kamila Andini – Honorable Mention Award from the Global Film Initiative, USA, 2011; and Edwin – Edward Yang Award, Asian Film Awards, 2012. They are bringing to life screenplays by Gina S. Noer – Indonesian blockbuster Habibie & Ainun (Faozan Rizal, 2012); and author Eka Kurniawan – World Readers’ Award, 2016, and The New York Times’ 100 Notable Books of 2015.
As well as accessible and substantial fiction films, Palari Films is also keen to produce documentaries.
